23rd Feb Boleskine Challenge Cup Boleskine v Strathspey , cancelled snow on park, maybe played at later date . 

 

15th Feb Brian Stoddart & Donald Macgruer Memorial Cup, Present team 9 Veterans & Former players 0.

 The Brian Stoddart & Donald Macgruer Memorial Cup, the normal season first home game was played today, last year snow prevented the fixture taking place, so some of the veterans were out of practice having missed their annual run out . The first half it is only fair to say that present team had the better of the play but the veterans defended sternly and any shots on target were capable dealt with by Steve Munro in goals, whilst up forward the veterans had a couple of chances . On the referees whistle to end the half the score stood at nil apiece a justified on the resolute defending of the veterans.

 Any thoughts hat the veterans had of holding on for a draw were quickly dispelled in the opening minutes of the half went Allan Macdairnid netted and within twenty minutes found themselves four goals down ,courtesy of a Ramond Robertson brace an a Mike Pirie long shot. Over the remainder of the game the present team scored five more without reply, Donnie Forbes 2, Sandy Fraser , Lewis Smith and Ramond Robertson completed his hat trick .

The match was refereed by John Sloggie , to the satisfaction of all concerned. The club are grateful to John , for once again giving up his free time to officiate at the BS & DM game.

Club President Peter Macdonald presented the cup to 2013 captain Dane Macpherson and medals to each team and the referee . The winners of the best player medals chosen by John Fraser & Bob Black, were presented to Mathew Ross for 2013 and Neil Robertson for the Veterans.
