Season 1999-2000
Saturday September 4th (1999)Fort William V Boleskine
The season started with a well fought and difficult encounter with Kingussie at Foyers. The Kingussie side are current Division Two champions and although many of the team lacked experience, put up a very difficult fight. The eventual score was Boleskine 3 Kingussie 2.
Saturday September 11thBoleskine V Newtonmore
The next game was against current Scottish Junior champions Newtonmore at Foyers and again Boleskine caught out their more illustrious opponents, defeating them convincingly by 6 goals to 1.
Saturday September 18thKincraig V Boleskine
Our first away fixture was to prove our first true test. Kincraig at their home ground have always been a very difficult side to match and going into the second half at 2 goals to 1 down goal in arrears it was looking like a very difficult task. Boleskine played very well and managed to scrape a 3 goals to 2 victory. This was possibly the first signs that this seasons team are worthy of their current position.
Saturday September 25thBoleskine V Fortwilliam
Next up were FortWilliam who had beaten us on both occasions last year. Not this time, however and Boleskine ran out convincing winners by 6 goals to 1 despite going behind in the first five minutes.
Saturday October 2ndSkye V Boleskine
An away trip to Sky was next on the agenda and this was tie that was going to test the team to the limits. Sky, always a force at home, were our closest rivals and with home advantage, many "stay at home" first team players would be involved. The match was an exciting if somewhat scrappy affair and despite constant pressure they could not break down a well organized Boleskine defence, where they found Gus Fraser in goals in first class form. Lewis Smith latched onto a break away pass with 15 minutes to go and promptly despatched the winning goal.
Saturday October 9thBoleskine V Kilmallie
Down to earth with a bump!
Beaten convincingly by bottom place Kilmallie in a disaster match!
A player from each team sent off caused us more problems than the Kilmallie team and we struggled in all departments. The score does not reflect on the game as a whole but none the less we did not deserve to win on merit.
However, this should remind us that we cannot take any match lightly and hopefully we will gain from this experience. Next weeks match is away to Lovat at Kiltarlity and this will be a very difficult match for us. Unavailable will be Roddie Munro and Craig Munro and this will reduce our firepower in the forward line. Alan Sumner will be fit for this game so it looks like he will fill the centre position. Sandy Cameron may be back for this week and we will need to field him in defence to try and tighten up after this week. His brother Johnny is also available and may used to partner his brother.
Saturday October 16thLovat V Boleskine
Balgate, home to Lovat Camanachd, was always going to be tough and tough it proved!
Needing a good result to get us back on track, things proved rather difficult against a young but experienced Lovat team who were not about to lay down. The loss of Craig Munro and Rod Munro gave us a real problem through the centre of the field. Joe Smith set up the team with Duncan MacDonald in Full Centre from the start, despite only playing one full match in the last six years due to injury. Alan Sumner took the half-back berth and Scott Ferguson wing centre.
The first half was all Lovat pressure with a strong tail wind in their favor and despite a lot of good pressure they failed to make much of an impact on the score line. The main problem for Boleskine was the lack of bite in mid field. Scott Ferguson moved from Wing centre to Full centre and this helped the cause, bringing the forwards into play more often but with no result.
Lovat scored a well taken goal in the twentieth minute through M Bjerland and followed this up with a goal just short of half time.
The second half was to prove much more even, despite a frantic first five minute all out assault by Lovat. Alan Sumner was playing at the peak of his ability and broke up countless Lovat attacks assisted by Sandy Cameron and Johnny Cameron. Duncan MacDonald managed to get involved with the match at last and started creating some effective break away moves, stretching Lovats centre line down the right hand wing. In the 60th minute he managed to pick up a poor clearance from the Lovat defence and despatch a powerful shot which ended up in the Lovat goal net.
Pressure was much more even now and play was much more open. Lovat threatened our goals less effectively and we had four or five excellent chances to score the equalizing goal.
Chances were all we had and despite good pressure we could not find the net. The game petered out into a controlled stalemate and we left without the result we needed to consolidate our position on top of the league.
Best for Lovat was John MacKenzie at Half Back whilst Boleskine were served superbly by Alan Sumner in the corresponding position.
The game was rough and tough in places but was well refereed by "Big Calum" and he is certainly one referee the Camanachd should encourage.
Saturday October 23rdNewtonmore V Boleskine
The return fixture against Newtonmore, who we beat by 6 goals to nill at Foyers, at the start of the season, proved to be another poor day out. Short of our usual pool, we were under pressure right from the off against a quick and nimble forward line. The overall pressure was a lot more evenly balanced than the scoreline of 10 goals to 1 suggests, in fact it was probably 60/40 in their favor but they were able to make almost all their pressure count.
We had two penalties saved and a goal chalked off for a foul... on our player! The resulting penalty was saved! Numerous other chances were created but we failed to capitalize on any. The same will to win, we had at the start of the season seems to have deserted us at this moment.
This is something we need to turn around, and quickly, before it becomes a habit.
Next weeks fixture has not been set by the Camanachd Fixtures Committee but it looks like a trip through to Aberdeen may well be on the cards!
Saturday October 30thBoleskine V Kincraig
No, not Aberdeen this week, today's fixture turned out to be the repeat visit of Kincraig who we had a narrow win against on their home ground on our third game this season.
With our dismal recent form we were not looking forward to this game as the next few weeks are going to be tied up with cup competition. We needed a win, and quick!
Welcome back..... Craig Munro. This guy made an instant difference to the team and we never looked like loosing this game. It has to be said they were short of a few of their regular players but after our recent results, anyone barring the
OAP Ladies Eleven would have fancied their chances!
Not to be for Kincraig. Our forward line came on song, thanks to Craig Munro, he got his brother Steve involved so much that he scored four goals! Martin Patterson got a couple, including one cracking volley from close range, along with one from lewis Smith and a double from Craig himself.
Kincraig had one of their players sent off in the second half for a bit of argy-bargy with the referee and from this point on the flood gates opened for us.
This was a great result for us despite Kincraig loosing their composure during the later part of the match, and we are quite happy to take the points, any way we can!
Final score 9 - 3
Saturday November 6th
We were ready to travel to Aberdeen today but the game was called off late on Friday night, due to a flooded pitch.
Next week we are to play Kingussie in the Strathdearn Cup away from home at The Dell. It will be a difficult match and we will have to play very well to get the result we need. The start of all games next week are scheduled for 12 noon because of the Scotland v England soccer match, so the game may have to be switched to another venue as both of the Kingussie teams are playing at home that day.
Saturday November 13th
The game that was scheduled for today was called off due to a double booking of The Dell at Kingussie. This was due to the Scotland v England Euro 2000 play off match at Hampden Park Glasgow today.
England won 2-0 with only 30% of the play!
The return at Wembley Stadium is on Wednesday night at 7.30pm GMT
let's hope for an improvement!
The Camanachd ruled that all games be played at 12 noon to allow fans and players to watch the international match and Kingussie's game against Skye took preference over our game which was due to be played directly after.
Saturday November 20th
Lochaber v Boleskine in the Sutherland Cup.(Scottish Junior National Championship)
We traveled to Spean Bridge today to meet Lochaber in the first round of the Sutherland Cup. A cold but still day the conditions for shinty were ideal although the pitch was somewhat patchy in places after a late season growth of grass.
The first five minutes were a bit of a shock as we did not manage to get out of our own half. At this time I can honestly say I thought Lochaber were a very competent team and were going to be difficult to draw against, let alone beat!
However we mounted a few attacks and it was during one of these in ten minutes that we opened the scoring through Steve Munro. This was quickly followed by another counter attack which yielded another, thanks to Lewis Smith. lochaber were still in control at this stage but had no answer to some lovely lead up play in front of goals by martin Patterson, Lewis Smith and Craig Munro. we went on to score four more goals before half time, effectively ending the tie.
The second half was a little disappointing and we only managed to score another two goals, Martin completing his hat trick (three goals) and Scott Ferguson adding another in the 75th minute. lochaber gained a consolation goal before the end but were never a real threat in the second half.
The main difference between the teams was the punch in the forward line for us and they played a super game, killing off any hope for Lochaber within the first thirty five minutes.
Goal scorers: - Martin Patterson--3
- Barry Paterson --1
- Scott Ferguson --1
- Lewis Smith --2
- Steve Munro --1
Saturday November 27th
We held our annual sale of work today in Gorthleck hall. Situated in the Glen of Stratherrick, amongst beautiful highland scenery, the local and not so local people gathered to spend..spend..spend, in the support of the local team!

We have always been very lucky when it comes to support for these events and this year was no exception.
A good crowd arrived and spent an enjoyable hour or so browsing and buying, meeting old friends and colleagues.

A collection was carried out the night before and on the morning of the sale to set up the stalls and the local residents of the area, as always, gave generously. Fresh home baking was donated along with farm produce, bric-a-brack, wines and spirits, toys and games and jumble. A fine butchers counter was set up selling local venison and game. Special mention must go to the local estates for providing this quality venison as well as other game.
The tombola stall, as always, proved to be very popular. This involves 100 items, numbered and placed on suitable tables. There are 100 corresponding tickets in sealed envelopes along with a further 500 empty envelopes. Tickets are purchased and the lucky ones will win a prize. A frantic twenty minutes produces a clear out of all the prizes and gains the club a worthwhile return. Persistence is the key to this game, the more you spend the more you get!
The home baking was excellent and was quickly snapped up, toys and games were popular with the children where many of the games were barely marked or used.

Total made by sale minus all expenses was £775.25
Thanks to all that contributed to the success of this years sale and to those who braved the elements to support us!
Saturday February 5th (2000)
Welcome back after a long and boring winter break. No shinty to speak of, for eight full weeks! The weather has been beautiful and I can see no benefit in this two month break at all. Teams are out of practice and there seems to be a general lack of focus on our national game. I could concur with a month break, but two months is stretching the point slightly! We could have had all the Junior cups sorted out, down to the quarter final stage and consolidated the lower division fixture list by this time if it were not for the long lay off! Just my opinion though so no emails please.
Back to business:Kingussie v Boleskine in the Strathdearn Cup.(Scottish Junior North Championship)
Not a good start for us, after a long lay off! We managed to turn out seven players last week for a practice invitation against Lovat at Kiltality. This week we managed to turn out with a full compliment of TEN players (what was I saying about too long a break?). Even the Kingussie manager admitted that he had to call in two players at short notice to fill a player shortfall and that was with their National Champion squad idle this week as well!
The game started as expected, with 10 man Boleskine against 12 man Kingussie on the attack but it was not until the 28th minute that they broke down a stubborn Boleskine defence, with a well taken shot on the turn. Prior to this, in 15 minutes Barry Patterson was badly injured when he fell awkwardly in a tackle with Kingussie's wing centre. He did not recover and had to play the remainder of the game, in effect, as a passenger.
Shortly after going into the lead, full centre, Martin Geninni of Kingussie had to leave the field with a badly twisted knee. Kingussie re-shuffled their system and, believe it or not, Boleskine began to mount a few attacks! In the 38th minute a through ball from Duncan MacDonald at full center, caught the Kingussie defence square, Lewis Smith, picking up the ball in the half forward position was brought to the ground by a Kingussie defender but managed to flick the ball into the path of Craig Munro, who dispatched a great shot into the Kingussie goal net! No joy! The referee pulled back play to the point of the infringement and disallowed the goal. This scenario was to repeat itself a further two times during the game and we are considering a formal protest against the referee.
The half finished on a more even note after our good solid defensive performance and again, it was up-beat at the start of the second half. We began to get to grips with the game and started to force the home team towards their own goal line. A couple of good moves between Craig Munro and his brother Steve, sent Lewis Smith bearing down on goals on at least two occasions. Yes you've guessed, they were impeded and no advantage was played! Free hits being awarded instead. Frustration and tempers began to fray along with the referee's book of cards! Nothing too serious but time was not on our side. Towards the last 15 minutes of the game Kingussie scored a super one-touch goal which, in all truth was the end of our day at the races. The heads of the players never went down and despite 2 more strikes in the last 5 minutes by Kingussie, the team can stand up and be proud of their efforts!
Final score: Kingussie 4 Boleskine 0
Best for Boleskine; Without doubt; Robert Henderson, Jo Smith (A Grandad Last month!) and Keith Nicholson.
Peter MacDonald was asked to play in goals at the last minute and some of his first half saves were superb!
Craig and Steve Munro were top class in mounting attacks, giving 110% all afternoon.
As for the rest, they gave everything they had and can be proud of themselves. Not one of them gave less than 100%!
Best for Kingussie; Martin Geninni gave 100% to the cause and the young Left Wing/Right Wing Centres. Apart from them I thought they looked a bit jaded after the long lay off.
Saturday February 19th
Back to the league: Boleskine V Skye
A strong looking team faced us at the Factory Field and we knew we were in for a hard game looking at the Skye line up. A couple of their regular senior side were included along with a group of eager looking youngsters!
The game started, with Boleskine on the attack and within a few minutes Craig Munro brought out a good save from the Skye goal keeper, with a well taken turn and shot. The Skye reaction was rather delayed and it was not until well into the first half that they managed any consolidated pressure on the Boleskine defence. Thankfully, our defence stood firm and countered their efforts.
Chances began to reign down on the Skye goals and if it were not for some superb goal keeping and rank poor shooting, Boleskine would have been four or five goals ahead by half time! We did, however manage one strike, through Martin Patterson in thirty minutes and this gave us a slender half time lead.
The second half was more of a physical affair and the Skye player's tempers were beginning to fray! The pressure on their defence was not total but we looked more sharp and inventive than their counterparts. Alan Sumner at full centre was beginning to take control of the match and it was no surprise when he lobbed a cracking shot from the half way line into the top corner of the Skye goal! A heavy sigh of relief was felt throughout the team and we began to play more fluently after this.
A very heavy tackle from one of Skye's players resulted in a sending off on the sixty minute mark, but from then on they began to play much better, putting our defence under pressure on a more regular basis. No joy however, the game was brought to a conclusion with, what appears to be, a great result for Boleskine.
This match was a good test and with Steve Munro, Sandy Cameron, Johnny Cameron and Barry Patterson all missing, this was a very satisfactory result.
Final score: Boleskine 2 Skye 0
Saturday February 26th
Sutherland Cup action...Boleskine V FortWilliam in the Sutherland Cup(Scottish Junior National Championship)
A hard game in store for us today, with some talented players on show for 'The Fort'. We had already accounted for them in the league by dispatching a six goals to one drubbing, earlier in the season but this visit was always going to be another matter!
Boleskine were at full strength, for the first time this season and we were hoping that the 'Fort' would help us to another milestone in Boleskine's history!
The fact that we have not competed in the Sutherland Cup Quarter final stage since the late sixties was a real boost to the team and a reasonable support turned out to see the game! Although I can recollect many times that this has happened, we have not managed to gain a quarter final place since 1966!
The game started with Boleskine taking the tie to the visitors and it was without surprise, that Steve Munro opened the scoring within fifteen minutes. Pressure built on the Fort defence and they were struggling to come to terms with the pace of our forward line.
A couple of good chances went unconverted and gradually, the FortWilliam team dragged themselves back into the game. The last twenty minutes of the first half saw Boleskine under extreme pressure and it was inevitable that the Fort would score. A super strike from the FortWilliam half forward put them on the score line and shortly after this they were awarded a penalty.
The penalty was unconverted, being well saved by Neil Robertson and this may have been the games turning point.
The second half of the game started with FortWilliam, again, dictating the pace and within three minutes they were two one ahead! The signs would have been bleak for Boleskine in days gone by but not today!!
Concerted effort from the defence and mid field, yielded a penalty, mid way through the second half which Craig Munro converted with ease. This was followed by a solo goal from Martin Patterson which was, without doubt the goal of the season as far as we are concerned. This was followed up by a double from Craig Munro, to notch his hat-trick and a strike from Lewis Smith to bring the score to Boleskine 6 - FortWilliam- 2
Overall, a satisfactory result and the team are in confident mood. We are only two games away from the Junior Championship final and these will be the toughest games of the season for us. We await the draw for the next round and hope we can prolong our interest in the competition.
We played well on the day, but we still have to account for some severely tough opposition if we are to prove ourselves worthy of recognition on the national stage!
Final score: Boleskine 6 FortWilliam 2
Saturday March 4th
League match against Lovat. Boleskine V Lovat
This match was cancelled on the morning of the match due to an overnight fall of snow measuring 4 inches. The pitch is only 50ft above sea level but we did not expect some nasty weather fronts coming in from the North Atlantic!
No other league games were played today in our division, so the positions remain unchanged. This could be a good omen for us! We have only three league games left at home and missing this one may give us a home tie when the league comes down the final stretch!
Saturday March 11th
League match against Lovat. Boleskine V Lovat
Another difficult encounter in store for us today with Lovat challenging for the top honors this season along with Fort William, Newtonmore and possibly Aberdeen University.
We knew it would be tough, as we watched Lovat go through their pre-match warm up.They were definitely "up" for this game with Keith MacRae and John Mackenzie in the line up along with Duncan Urqhart in the forward line making a real name for himself on the shinty scene this season!
The game started slowly with little to choose between the two teams, their centre line began to get a hold of the game mid way through the first half and they were looking ominously good. Some good pressure and lead up work from their lively centre line allowed Duncan Urqhart the opportunity to leave Joe Smith "looking on" and despatched a neat strike into the bottom left corner of the Boleskine goal.
At this stage the Lovat team looked in the ascendancy and were stringing together some very smart moves, bringing out a couple of good saves from Neil Robertson in goals. However, they were not to be out done by Alan Sumner in the Full Center berth and he began some inspired moves, which put our forward line in the center stage for the remainder of the first half. Despite some good chances Boleskine had to end the first half, one goal in arrears.
Half time was a chance to get a few opinions aired and with criticism and encouragement ringing in the players ears we started the second half with a renewed attitude. It was not long before we began to turn around a poor performance and began to give as good as we got! Some good lead up play from Craig Munro saw Lewis Smith through on goals only for one of the Lovat defense to kick the ball into touch.. penalty! Craig munro struck the keeper and his brother was at hand to follow up and despatch the equalizer before the Lovat defense had time to react.
The result was in the balance but Boleskine began to play much better now, in particular the centre line with messers Sumner and Patterson first spoiling, and then creating, good ball for the eager Boleskine forward line.
Despite this it was not until mid way through the second half that we gained the lead, through an amazing strike from Craig Munro from fully thirty yards, beating the keeper "all ends up". The game then flowed from end to end and Lovat struck the post in seventy five minutes but the danger was cleared. This was possibly the turning point in the game.
Three minutes later Lewis Smith struck a rocket shot, deep to the Lovat keeper's near post which he was unable to reach, score.. 2 goals to 0.
A further goal through Steve Munro, sealed the victory for Boleskine and despite some concerted Lovat pressure in phases, Lovat were not going to leave the Factory Field with any points today!
Lewis Smith went on to score another goal and almost completed his hat-trick (three goals in a game) when after scoring a super solo goal, was ruled to have kicked the ball at one stage.
A great result for Boleskine against a solid and determined Lovat side, who looked as though, at one stage, might spoil the party!
Final score: Boleskine 4 Lovat 1
Saturday March 18th
League match against Kilmallie. Kilmallie V Boleskine
A tough away match turned out to be a real disappointment for Boleskine. We had five regular members missing this week, Craig Munro, Neil Robertson, Sandy and Johnny Cameron as well as Duncan MacDonald. The game was, by all accounts, very scrappy and they managed to take the lead just before half time.
The second half continued to disappoint and within a few minutes Kilmallie had scored a further two goals to end our interest in the game. We most definitely missed the experience of Craig Munro in the forward line along with Johnny Cameron in the defence.
This is the second defeat we have suffered at the hands of Kilmallie this season and they have turned out to be our bogey team yet again. We will need to pull of something quite spectacular to end this seasons campaign at the top of the league.
Final score: Kilmallie 5 Boleskine 0
Saturday April 1st
Sutherland Cup Quarter Final match against Glenorchy. Glenorchy V Boleskine
Another shattering defeat, against a team who should not have caused us too many problems. The game started with Glenorchy on the attack and within ten minutes they were two nill up! Both goals were own goals, which makes it even more frustrating. The first was an attempted clearance which trickled over the goal-line between the keepers legs and the second was an attempted palmed save which bobbled over the line.
We then began to exert pressure on the Glen goal and despite some very sustained pressure towards the end of the first half their defence held firm.
The second half began well for us, with most of the play being conducted in the Glenorchy defence. Despite numerous chances we could not manage to get more than one goal which would have brought Glenorchy to Foyers for a replay. Games are not won by pressure alone and it was very frustrating to watch, as chance after chance was missed or thwarted by a very plucky defence and in particular an inspired display of goalkeeping.
Final score: Glenorchy 2 Boleskine 1
Saturday April 15th
League fixture against Fort William. Fort William V Boleskine
Another shattering defeat, against a team who are managed by ex Foyers man - Billy Anderson, we were not on our best form. He was delighted but we were not. We were without Martin Patterson, who would undoubtedly have helped our cause in the forward line, along with Barry Patterson at wing centre, who called off late in the morning of the game. No excuses should be offered as the "Fort " team played very well and deserved their victory on the day.
The first half was pretty even and we had a good goal chalked off for offside against Lewis Smith, while we were one goal to nil in arrears. The pressure during this half was pretty even despite a blustery wind helping the opposition and we were hoping for some goal mouth action in the second half.
Despite the early pressure during the start of the second half from the Fort, we were able to set some nice chances towards the middle of the game and should have managed at least one or possibly two goals during this period. Poor shooting and a lack of confidence in the forward line was to haunt our chances of victory. Our centre line was being taken apart bit by bit and with only Alan Sumner to put up a fight we were gradually fading from the game.
Despite this we had several further chances before the Fort killed us off with a quick double in the closing fifteen minutes as our chances and energy ran out.
Final score: Fort William 3 Boleskine 0
Saturday April 22nd
League fixture against Aberdeen University. Boleskine V Aberdeen University
Better news this week as we managed to record another home win, this time at the expense of Aberdeen University. The University team are not made up of university members, but are an amalgamation of Aberdeen University and Aberdeen Camanachd shinty clubs. At one time the city boasted both these teams but now only the university backed team survives. Two of our ex players are members of this team, Hendry MacPherson and Andrew Fraser, although Andrew is past his fortieth bithday he is relied upon whenever the team is short or puts in a special request to be considered for his return to his home patch! Andrew's father, Robin Fraser, was a member of the Straths Athletic Shinty Club in the mid fifties and I hope to bring you another team line up shortly in the 'Yesterdays Heroes' section, which includes Robin in the line up along with Wolsten MacPherson, Hendry's uncle.
Hendry's dad, Jimmy MacPherson is pictured in the 1952 Straths Athletic team Photograph. A fine player, and looking very well, he was at the match today and spent a couple of hours talking 'old times' with Teep MacDonald of Boleskine and Foyers. (Team photograph will be added to 'Yesterday's Heroes very soon!)
Anyway, back to the game. A slow start allowed the University team to strike first, within the first ten minutes! This setback, against a University team who were by all accounts, under-strength, was quickly repaired by a well taken goal by Steve Munro in sixteen minutes, followed by another by Martin Patterson shortly after.
Play was even at this stage, although Boleskine were looking more penetrating in their moves and it was proved in the twentieth minute when Steve Munro bagged another goal. Things were looking more encouraging at this stage of the match and before the half time break Boleskine went further ahead with a well taken goal by Lewis Smith followed by a looping shot by Craig Munro, which deceved the Aberdeen goalkeeper.
The second half was more of a non-event and despite a re-shuffle of the Aberdeen centre line, bringing Jamie Bell to the left wing position to cut out some good penetration down that wing, Boleskine were confident enough to make a couple of substitutions, including the full back, Joe Smith.
Peter MacDonald came on for Martin Patterson and he was unlucky not to score with a well taken shot in the seventy fifth minute. Aberdeen Struck again in seventy six minutes and Boleskine were left wondering whether our early substitutions were not a little premature in regards to the defensive line up. However Craig Munro settled the affair with a smartly taken goal in eighty three minutes to the delight of the assembled home crowd.
Final score: Boleskine 7 Aberdeen University 2
Saturday May 6th
League fixture against Aberdeen University. Aberdeen University V Boleskine
Due to a wedding taking place we were unable to field a team for the Aberdeen match. A total of seven of the regular team were unavailable due to work commitments or attending a wedding. This is a very tame way to give up hope for the league title and we may be fined by the Camanachd Association for not fulfilling the fixture.
Saturday May 13th
League fixture against Kingussie. Kingussie V Boleskine
Another major disappointment this week as we again failed to travel, this time to Kingussie for our final game of the season. Last weeks failure to raise a team was a bitter blow and this has carried over to this weeks fixture with many players seemingly unable to turn out for the match. This is a serious situation and we are at a loss to what the outcome will be over the closed season ahead. Only time will tell and we are awaiting punishment from the Camanachd Association with regards to this matter.
To our opponents for the last two weeks we offer our apologies and offer no excuses in mitigation.
A very unsatisfactory way to end the season and we hope to resolve this situation as soon as possible.
Presidents Report....
This season can be summed up in one word.. inconsistent. Despite a wonderful start to the season we stuttered and stumbled at two crucial stages of the season, namely the start of play after the long winter lay off and the final four games of the season. Added to this, our dismal record against Kilmallie and you can understand our frustration. A season that promised so much proved, ultimately, to be a disappointment.
It has to be said that Craig and Steven Munro, along with Alan Sumner, Joe Smith and Clive Girvan, gave the team great service. They have been the backbone of the team, all season and should be given all the credit for our best performances. Not once did they let us down and I sincerely hope they will continue with
