League Boleskine, Ardnamurchan and Glengarry
UNDER-14 DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE - FRI 8TH JUNE 2012
While most cars were heading to Rockness, I made my way over the hill to Invergarry on Friday evening to watch Boleskine Under-14s take part in their first tournament for a number of years. Under the direction of Ian Hope and Craig Pirrie there are now almost 20 young players coming to training every Wednesday evening at Farr.
Fourteen youngsters, along with Ian Hope and Duncan Pirrie, made the trip to play against Ardnamurchan and Glengarry. For many of them it was their first time in a Boleskine strip and they did the club, and the travelling support, proud. The older Glengarry and Ardnamurchan players didn’t seem to daunt our little team. With obvious enjoyment and enthusiasm they gave a great account of themselves and were unlucky on a number of occasions not to score. There was much encouragement from the coaches and they played their hearts out and showed real skill and determination in their games. The players should be very proud of themselves and I am sure their friends and families who were there last Friday are too.
Thanks must go to Ian Hope and Craig Pirrie for their commitment every week and for encouraging and developing the Boleskine team of the future!
